Fixing problems no-one else will help with

At age 37, I was at a crossroads. The linguistic robotics business I established was superbly profitable, but the accumulation of financial rewards was no longer an incentive, and the day-to-day operations had become an unfulfilling drag. I had a commissioned a bronze statue of Richard Nixon, had built a Jefferson’s Poplar Forest-esq office, complete with large man-made lake which I would paddleboat about in during the working day. If I kept going, the next acquisition would have been a new aeroplane for the company. But that path often leads to becoming one of those douchebags who upon succeeding in commerce, believe in their infallibility, and eventually pilot the plane into the side of a mountain. So instead, I decided to retire.

These days I volunteer for IHC, work as an ambulance officer for St John, volunteer as a business mentor, and fix problems no-one else will help with.
